PIX Idea Board

"Share any or all of your clever ideas, fundraisers, and projects! Does your Chapter donate books to the local library? Or maybe you host a Christmas bazaar every year at a local church or school. Please share the ideas that didn't work for your Chapter either.

Maybe you sell candles as a fundraiser. Do you sell cookies at school games? Share those ideas as well.

Submit your suggestions and they will be posted here:

If you missed us at the Convention Sales Room we still have Psi Ote Rose Tributes available. For $1 each you get a 2x6 in turquoise satin ribbon printed with a rose and Psi Otes in gold (the ribbon has stickie tape on the back), a yellow ribbon rose and a card to write a special note on. Rose Tributes have lots of uses; put them on with plain white t-shirts and instantly your whole chapter matches for a special event, pin the pledge/initiation pin on the ribbon and then simple "tape" to each new member, no more fumbling with pinning people, give one out at each meeting to honor a special sister for an accomplishment, sent them to members who've missed a few meeting to show you're thinking of them the list is endless. If you're interested please send me an email and I'll send them right out. Thank You My email address is mjkocher@minerbroadband.com

Our Chapter decided to order the cheesecakes and sweet breads that were offered/displayed at the 2001 National Convention. Most of our members only took orders for themselves before Thanksgiving. The cheesecakes/breads were delicious. We cleared over $300 for simply ordering items that we could all use at Thanksgiving time. We plan on ordering again in the spring (around the Easter celebration.)

We do a fun thing for ways and means that I would love to share. We have a purse auction and everyone brings a purse with something in it. It can be a new purse or an old one you no longer use. We have creative members that use tote, beach bags. Some surprises inside are gift certificates, candies, or a GAG GIFT!! This is a lot of fun, and you would not believe how much money is raised for our general fund!!

One of our fund raisers is in the fall. We sell elephant ears at all of our home football games. We buy frozen bread dough, slice it, flour it, roll it through a pasta maker, fry it in deep fryers and then sugar and cinammon it. We sell them for $1 each and always sell out before the end of each game. We usually make 100 or more per game.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions on how to include the husbands for a fun meeting to wrap up the year in June? Some have suggested initiating them as "Cy otes", the husband term for Psi OTes. We had a fun September kickoff, with a LUau theme and had a ball. Hope everyone has a wonderful new year and I would love to hear from sisters with some new ideas!! Thanks-Kristi

Our chapter just completed a great social event with our husbands. We had a "Night at the Races" in which all the activities, decorations, meal and prizes centered around NASCAR and Indy 500 racing. One of our new initiates volunteered her car(It was a red hot Firebird!) for pictures with a trophy and checkered flag. Everyone enjoyed getting to take their picture home with them that night. To assist the members with children, we had 2 members' daughters provide babysitting in another room of the church where we met. The babysitting alone helped increase our member participation. The total cost of the event was covered by raffles, 50/50 drawing and the price of the meal that night. We even had money left to donate back to the general fund for future events. What a blast everyone had and I heard no complaints from husbands about a boring evening.
